UK fashion brand Topshop has launched its first online store
for China, marking a move into the Mainland for the British retailer.
Trendsetter Topshop has been looking to tap into China’s retail
market for a while – it already has stores in Hong Kong and shoppers in Shanghai have learned about the brand after it opened a pop-up store here back in 2012. In
August the company announced it would launch in China through Beijing-based online store Shangpin.com, which it says has more than five
million customers and targets mainly young fashion consumers in their 20s and
30s making it a good fit with Topshop's core brand. Topshop, and its sister brand Topman, now have more than 140 stores outside
In China, shoppers can pay cash on delivery, with a flat
shipping fee of 20RMB/order. According to the website, shipments to Shanghai
typically take between one and three days to arrive with a free seven-day
