It’s almost upon us! We’ve teamed up with The Ice Cream Truck to bring you the cream of Shanghai’s art, design and fashion crop, so this Saturday, get yourself down to Wharf 1846 for a celebration of all things creative.

In addition to live art performances, a fashion show and some toothsome food and drink, there’ll be a whole host of local indie labels showcasing their wares, from perennial Time Out favourites Snoozer Loser, Finch and Josie Chen, to no-less-brilliant newcomers USW and LuRu.

Highlights include Frau Ana’s new collection (pictured left), which features typically zany creations like neon vests and tiered dresses; whimsical silk-and-net ‘head toppings’ from online milliner Peony Rice (from approx 480RMB); and – now that there’s a distinctly autumnal chill in the air – chunky knitted scarves, fingerless gloves and slouchy wool berets by eco-conscious label Nuomi.

Be sure to check out Ta Jie’s pop-up store, too, which has relocated from its Tianzifang digs to bring you graffiti-emblazoned designs by edgy Shanghai artist Popil - who designed one of our special edition magazine covers this month.

If you’re in the market for some quirky homeware, don’t miss the gorgeous, contemporary range of cushions (approx 250RMB), table linen and aprons (350-450RMB) by new design duo LuRu (pictured above) – all made from exquisite, uber-traditional blue nankeen fabric printed using a 3000-year-old process. Also worth a peek is Jonas’ Design, whose imaginative reworkings of retro everyday objects are guaranteed to inspire an IKEA-related purge of the home: think clocks made out of 1960s Chinese biscuit boxes, lamps created from traditional aluminium kettles and digital photo-frames housed within retro TV sets.

We’ll be sharing a stall with our insanely talented illustrator and graphic designer Mojo Wang (work pictured right) so come and check out his artworks, and if you still haven’t signed up for our weekly newsletter, why not swing by and get yourself on the mailing list?

See you there!
