A buzzing award ceremony at Shak's Pavilion in Changning revealed who won what at
China's Most Successful Design Awards last Friday. The awards, now in their sixth year, celebrate 'successful' (aesthetically, commercially, practically) design on the market in China judged by a panel of 14 international designers.

The top place diamond award went to Moganshan eco-resort
naked Retreats' new Stables Private Reserve (pictured right). The judges were impressed by the design's environmental ambitions. It aims to be the first LEED (Leadership in Environmental Energy Design – the international standard for judging green buildings) platinum-certificated resort in Asia.
Two design entries were awarded with the second platinum award: Logon's architecture of the Shanghai Museum of Glass and Mr 8, a mobile phone from ZTE Corporation designed for students. The third gold award was presented to Philips for the simple, slim-fit CAM300 camcorder and to Rui De for their oven extraction hood designed specifically to suit the needs of Chinese home kitchens.
In addition, ten more designs for interior, branding, products, furniture and technology were recognised with runner-up awards.
