I didn"t see much in they way of affordable jewelry on this list. One of my favorite stores is "Creative Jewels" at 236 Jinxian Lu, near Shanxi Nan Lu. The store is lined wall to wall with jewerly, accessories, small purses, sunglasses, etc. It may take you some time to find what you are looking for, but they certainly have unique pieces that fit different types of styles. As always, be prepared for the store attendants to stalk you while shopping...

@Alex GRuss - I think that "funky Vintage Spectacles Shop" that you talk of is Shanghai Code, number 28. Is SALT the same as Happy Salt? I like their knick knackery too; they"ve got a branch in Tianzifang and one on Yongjia Lu as well - great little shops, but they didn"t quite make the cut. As for IKEA, it"s a controversial choice, but as it says on the list, it"s our go-to furniture option even if we sometimes wish it weren"t

Excellent and comprehensive list, BUT IKEA??? Really?? I would have rather listed SALT on Fuxing Lu for knick knack or the funky Vintage Spectacles Shop deep inside Tian Zi Fang
