Attention spendthrifts: fashion bible VOGUE magazine’s global after-hours shopping extravaganza hits Shanghai for the first time on Sunday 11 September. Nine Huaihai Lu malls (plus a handful of independent boutiques like THE VILLA) have signed up for the one-night-only event, offering discounts, free gifts and limited edition designs on a staggering 50 global and domestic brands including Max Mara, Bottega Veneta, Bally and Omega.

Cocktails, live music and famous faces (Fan Bingbing is the official representative) should help fuel the spending frenzy, and specially designated double-decker buses will ferry shoppers between destinations, thereby sparing Louboutin-shod feet the pain and indignity of going shanks’ pony down Huaihai Lu.

vogue fashion's night outIf that’s not sartorially exciting enough, Xintiandi Style will be hosting a free creative fashion exhibition to mark the countdown to the event, featuring specially designed pieces from ten of China’s top designers - think Uma Wang, Qiu Hao (who recently won WGSN’s 2011 award for Breakthrough Designer), Li Xin of fast-fashion giant JNBY and Liao Xiaoling of local label Content, to name but a few.

The FNO exhibition will be at B1 Atrium, Xintiandi Style from 30 August – 11 September.
