Innovative contemporary art gallery on The Bund
Situated in the historic Royal Asiatic Society building at the north end of The Bund this grand modern art gallery regularly exhibits innovative works from some of China’s biggest contemporary artists including Zheng Fanzi and Cai Guo Ciang.
Despite renovation by British architect David Chipperfield in 2007, the building still retains the minimalist, Art Deco style of its original 1930s design and also boasts a second, more intimate venue across its vast courtyard, in an old church. A sleek terrace café with excellent views of The Bund is also available on the top floor.
Please note that due to building renovations this gallery will be closed until September 2011.
