The VillaSee Address

Walking through the baby blue doors of The Villa feels less like walking into a shop and more like walking into the powder room of a particularly fabulous supermodel, with plush hot pink sofas and elegant coffee tables littered with Vogues. The airy space aims to be an uber-girlie shopping experience as much as a shop, and the smallest details are exquisite, from the Thomas Leung oil paintings above the staircase to the custom-made Peter Lam rugs.

The girls-only shop is organised by theme rather than designer, so there are sections for cocktail dresses and dinner wear. A selection of Herve Leger bodycon dresses (14,000RMB) rub along with names such as Tibi, Robert Rodriguez and Yigal Azroul, whose charcoal plunge-back crepe dress (11,750RMB) is an artwork of sumptuous draping.

The collection has a distinctly North American bias. Names such as Trina Turk and Vince (whose satin bomber jacket was worn by Madonna on the cover of her American Life album) are mixed in among the bigger brands to educate shoppers in lesser-known but equally deserving designers.

We love the collection from alice + olivia, particularly the cream asymmetrical feather top (3,720RMB). A smaller collection of casual and office wear (with tops starting at around 3,000RMB) adds some balance to the otherwise extravagant offerings.
