Wang Huangsheng: Breathe In/Out

Originally scheduled for mid-February, the postponing of the exhibit due to the pandemic has made the show almost prophetic and metaphorical as Wang’s works usually deal with human crisis. The recurring motifs – the oxygen tanks and gauze – can be seen as something that keeps us safe from the danger. Through the show, Wang wants the viewers to be vigilant about the superficial abundance brought by economic development and the danger hidden behind comforts.
