ZiWU Modern Studio presents a collection of photographic works of the legendary photographer Liu Heung Shing taken between the late 1970s to the 80s. The photos document a particular time in China where social and economic reforms took place as the society experienced an extraordinary transition to modernisation. Studied under Gjon Mili, Liu has completed a variety of assignments for Life magazine, covering historic events from the rise of China to the collapse of the Soviet Union. He is currently the founder and director of the Shanghai Centre of Photography.
