‘My personal favourite route in Shanghai is pretty straightforward. I like fast-moving roads with good quick sprints and a chance to ride the “wave of lights”. Starting at the Grand Gateway complex in Xujiahui, head south along Caoxi Bei Lu towards IKEA. This same road is the one that travels down to the South Railway Station, past Jinjiang Amusement Park, and into a stretch of winding tunnels and elevated bridges. You’re basically following the Humin Elevated Road from five floors down.
‘The road changes name a few times, but ultimately stay on the same path and when you hit the area of Xinsong Lu, turn around and mash it back towards the centre of the city. If you time it right you can hit every green light and burn 30km real fast.'
