Rising (or should we say going up?) from the ashes of Lune, Elevator has played host to some of our favourite alternative events this year thanks to the vision of Maumau, Jung Goh, Kelly Pon and co. The Xinle Lu spot has brought a great soundsystem, ping pong, cartoon nights and the return of chill-out party ‘Space Out!’ as well as becoming a haven for discerning house and techno fans in Shanghai.

It's no shock that Le Baron took the Readers' Choice award - the crowds surrounding its Donghu Lu entrance every weekend vying for a way in show just how popular this place is, and for good reason.
