A city that's all about cocktails, Shanghai is in for a treat over the next couple of weeks. In the lead up to its fifth annual bar industry blowout, the DRiNK Awards, Thirsty Work Productions is amping things up in the city's booze scene with two new events open to the public this month.

Kicking things off is DRiNK Fest, a China-wide campaign in collaboration with DiningCity (behind China Restaurant Week) running from Thursday 12 through Sunday 22 November that will see over 50 of Shanghai's favourite bars doing special 50RMB cocktail menus. The lineup of bars includes big names like Atelier by Tastebuds, Ars & Delecto, Sober Company, EPIC, The Nest and many more. To get the deals, you'll need to login via the Mini Program, where you'll also find the full list of bars and cocktail menus.

Part two of the cocktail extravaganza comes in the form of DRiNK Street – an outdoor market at the Jing An Kerry Centre where a load of the country's top bars will set up shop for the weekend on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November. The likes of Evening Standard and SanYou are set to come up from Guangzhou along with Life on Mars from Shenzhen, while Union Trading Co., Bar Constellation, the Tastebuds Group and more will be repping Shanghai.

All the drinks are capped at 50RMB (with some non-alcoholic tipples for those keeping off the sauce) and there will be food to soak up some of the spirits and live music to keep the good vibes going. Entry is free, but in a bid to keep us topped up sustainably and do away with single-use plastic cups, there's a 35RMB charge for a reusable cup (50RMB if you want it filled with mulled wine) made in part from coffee granules that's yours to keep.

Whether you're a sucker for all things cocktail or looking to get warmed up for the festive season, you'll be in good company here.
