As the heat starts cranking across Shanghai's streets and pool season gets steadily underway, here's a bit of good news to come out of Sheshan: Playa Maya Waterpark has just reopened for the summer
. The announcement of the park's opening came off the back of the news that popular Shanghai waterpark Dino Beach won't open this season.
Coming a couple of weeks later than previous years, the 200,000sqm waterpark returned to business last Saturday 20 June (it usually opens around mid-June). While the classic rides are in action – from chutes and rafts for adrenaline junkies to more chilled wave pools and bathing areas – the park is only operating at 30 percent capacity and all visitors need to register at least one day in advance.
