Cameras out: These Shanghai streets are covered in fall foliage

The government will be leaving some of the city’s streets untouched for the next month

Autumn doesn’t hang about for long in Shanghai, but it sure does leave a pretty mark. Leaf-peeping season is officially upon us and as is tradition, the municipal government has announced that a number of the city’s streets will be left unswept for the next month, so we can all admire the golden gallery Mother Nature has left behind.

Like last year, 41 streets will be flaunting their crimson and golden colours, and the roads will be landscaped to make sure they look as pretty as possible (for your viewing and WeChat Moments’ pleasure, of course). Those selected include areas around Pudong, Changning, Jingan and Old Xuhui, with the last day before the gold turns grey being Monday 20 December. If you were hoping to embark on an ochre-hued stroll at some point over the next month, here's a few of the highlights and their dates.
