One of Shanghai’s first galleries dedicated to exhibiting work by up and coming contemporary Chinese artists, ShanghART is now one of the longest standing M50 galleries. Displaying a wide range of sculpture, painting, photography and multimedia, the large space is a white-washed refurbished warehouse, flexible for exhibiting pieces from multiple mediums. ShanghART represents over forty artists, and has also exhibited foreign artists such as installation artists Isaac Julien and Nobyoshi Araki. The gallery also has an extensive library and archives, which the public are welcome to peruse by appointment.
