Named in the
World's 50 Best Restaurants in 2013, Mr & Mrs Bund does creative French dishes on a bewilderingly long menu from local celebrity chef Paul Pairet – think beef tartare, foie gras crumble, mouth-watering picnic chicken with garlic aioli, ‘long short beef ribs’ and a lemon tart served in a whole lemon. The vibe is loud, fun and almost nightclub-y, and the people-watching is top-notch.
After 11pm they offer an excellent value late-night two-course set menu with plenty of choice from the top dishes for around only 250RMB and there is a popular monthly kitschy fun bingo night with prizes of iPads and free dinners (usually the third Thursday of the month, see
www.mmbund.com for dates).
Mr & Mrs Bund brunch is back from Saturday 17 October.
