A polished yet casual diner with comfy booths and a menu with offerings from sandwiches to smoked meat pastas, a few salads and soups, and the Canadian classic, poutine. Their signature Smoked Meat Reuben is a fabulous sandwich that you'll find yourself craving more often than you'd like. It's a triple decker sandwich made with rye bread, housemade sauerkraut and Swiss cheese is a monstrous endeavour. It’s so laughably huge that it’s hard to imagine anyone can actually wedge the entire thing into their mouth. You end up picking out slices of the luscious, salty, fatty beef and eating them plain, so you can trim the glorious mess down to mouth-size.
Tock's uses AAA Angus beef brisket which gets cured for two weeks in a mixture of spices, then smoked for 14 hours. The result is an incredible tender, chewy and smoky beef that could strut its stuff quite proudly in the centre of Manhattan or back in the Tock family’s hometown of Montreal. It's the most authentic and delicious locally-made deli meat we’ve tried in China.
