Building on its successful Julu Lu outlet, the purveyor of stylish, high-end mens clothes and accessories opened a two-storey shop in the former villa space opposite the Pushkin monument at the triangle of Taojiang, Fenyang and Dongping Lus in the former French Concession.
Although it’s not the cheapest place to find menswear in Shanghai, Aegis remains a go-to store for many of the city’s male trendsetters. The brands on offer at the new location will be familiar to anyone who’s stopped by the Julu Lu original: Rag & Bone, Opening Ceremony, Band of Outsiders and Folk, along with a smattering of locally-grown names.
But the new location is encouraging you to do more than just shop and go, with the opening of the ‘Project Aegis Coffee Bar’ on the second floor together with a range of vintage-style arcade machines, including childhood favourites Pacman and Street Fighter 2.
