Shanghai’s art museums are slowly opening back up to the public

A restricted number of visitors and other caveats are required for now

It’s been almost two months since Shanghai’s art museums closed their doors to fight off the COVID-19 outbreak, but the good news is some of the city’s art establishments have begun to welcome visitors again. However, special measures have been taken to prevent large gatherings.

First of all, to visit any art museum, you need to show your passport and your Shanghai QR Code, which indicates your health status. Some art museums require a reservation at least one day before your visit. A compulsory temperature check will be conducted at the entrance, and during the visit, you’ll have to wear a mask at all times and keep a distance of at least 1.5 metres from other visitors.

Here is a list of art museums to help you get your culture fix over the next few weeks.
