There can be little disputing that 90RMB is a lot of money for a sandwich. But that’s how much it’ll cost you for the most expensive offerings at Market 101, the Changle Lu spot from
Goga chef Brad Turley. But there are cheaper options available too. For example, there’s a bagel with bacon and cream cheese (30RMB), a grilled cheese sandwich (60RMB) and a warming, fragrant roast turkey soup (50RMB).
But if you want a roasted beef or Italian salami sandwich, you’ll only see 10
kuai change from a red note. In return however, you get a monster of a sandwich, a roughly 700g whopper that looks like it eats those skinny baguettes at
Farine for breakfast. The huge sandwiches also happen to be delicious (not to mention that they could easily feed two/a small family). The roasted beef features a wedge of pleasingly pink slices of meat combined with a generous helping of gherkins, cheese, onions and juicy tomatoes between two hunks of soft ciabatta slathered with pesto. It’s a beast, but one we’ll definitely be back to wrestle with again soon. Market 101 also offer delivery, though we suggest you walk it off.
